Hello Batang Lepanto!
The purpose of this letter is simply to invite everyone to my proposed 2009 Christmas Gift Giving Activities in Lepanto Mines, and make them aware (especially the children) that they are not forgotten, that we care for them though we are far away and we want to share some of our blessings to them…in our own little way.
Allow me then to share my experience on how I successfully launched the 2008 Christmas Gift-Giving in Philex Mines. Of the approximately 700 members of Batang Philex Mines that time, only 40 members actively participated and donated in the campaign, and we were able to raise approximately P100,000. With that amount, we bought 200 school bags and 200 umbrellas for Elementary students and 200 school bags and 200 umbrellas for high school students, plus gift packages, coffee mugs, souvenir items, candies and many assorted things for the local residents, all of these Christmas giveaways bear the logo and website address of Batang Philex Mines.
In the case of Batang Lepanto, we now have 220 registered members as of this writing, and the average number of members registering everyday is approximately 5 members per day, that’s almost 150 per month. By December, I forecast that there will be approximately 1,000 registered members already.
Now, let’s just assume 500 members will contribute P100 each, that would be P50,000 already. If they donated P200, that would be P100,000 already. How much more to those who have left Lepanto and worked gainfully in Manila, in Baguio or overseas who are willing to donate, say P1,000 or more, that would be a big help to Lepanto residents, perhaps we can utilize some funds for medical or scholarship of some college students too.
I, therefore, request everyone to share us your views and comments on this campaign, and I look forward to your support and active participation.
For those members who wish to commit, please state your Full Name and BLM ID so we can advice you later on where to deposit your donations, and we hope that by November 30 all the funds are already in the hands of the assigned person(s) to enable the Committee (to be formed soon) to purchase, ship, wrap and dispose of the gifts on Christmas time. Thank you!
