Hello to all Batang Lepanto Mines. I'd like to introduce myself first. We stayed in Lepanto from 1969 to 1975 at Bunkhouse 20 in San Roque. Back then, Lepanto was so different. Facilities, education and environment were excellent. I truly enjoyed those years. Please bear with me. This Jurassic is just being sentimental ;D. After graduating from LHS in '75, the year that the first mass termination occurred, as far as I can recall, I felt lost, not knowing what lay ahead. I got separated from my classmates and friends. To this day, I don't know how they are doing and where they are. I searched the registered members and only two have sounded off! Anyway, I would say that the best time to have lived in Lepanto was before the '75 mass termination. Of course, this is debatable, but that is my 1 cent take. I got to visit Lepanto in 91 and 92 and I can not help but compare the situation then and now. I am just worried where Lepanto is headed since the economy is not working in the company's favor. I pray that it won't follow in the footsteps of Benguet corporation and other mining communities in Benguet. I invite fellow BLM to share their thoughts on the thread and I want to call on LHS batch 75 to stand up and be accounted! I could be reached at jack667029@yahoo.com. I hope my litany will cause a spirited discussion. Lepanto IS IT!

This is a rejoinder to my earlier post. My generation did not have the benefits of today's information technology - the digital age. All we have are memories and we all know that memories fade as we age . I therefore urge today's generation of BLM to make full use of the advantages that IT can provide. Those of us who earlier left Lepanto (most of you may have not been born yet) for whatever reasons have very little memento to remind us of those happy years while in Lepanto. I call on today's generation to take and collect as many pictures as you can so that when the time comes that you have to move out of Lepanto, you have PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEMORIES, as Jim Croce sang, to look up and hold on to. I'm sure they will bring you smiles . But for a Jurassic like me, I'm only as good as my memory. For how long? That's the question. Kaya mga bata, makinig sa matatanda. Till next post, if my memory does not fail me ;D .
